Leather Walking Shoes
Welcome, this website is about leather walking shoes that will help you walk in comfort and look good during your walks and your life activities.
Walking shoes are good to wear if you are going for your daily fitness walk to reach your personal fitness goals, or if you will be on your feet all day at work.
Some of the most advanced technology starts out in running shoe styles, and then is introduced into the better looking walking shoe styles. Compared to regular shoes, a leather walking shoe will have better flexibility so your foot can roll efficiently as your foot moves through each step. Walking shoes will have a low heel with not as much flare as a running shoe, because your heel will hit first.
Better support is the most important quality you will get in a walking shoe. Better support in walking shoes is specifically referred to as motion control. “Motion control” refers to the way the shoe keeps your ankle from wobbling around as you go through the walking motion, even though the shoe is low cut and not a boot that covers your ankle. This motion control results in much less shock, wear and tear on your ankle and knee joints, and will keep you walking for fun.
Among the walking shoes, there are levels of control. Walking shoes can have firm motion control for pronators (those with wobbling ankles), stability shoes with a bit less motion control and a bit more comfort, and cushioned shoes with the emphasis on comfort. Heavier walkers are more likely to over-pronate and need firm motion control. For all walkers, until you become an experienced fitness walker, we recommend that you try out a firmer motion control than usual. You will get used to the motion control feeling and you legs, ankles and feet will thank you.
Many brands make leather walking shoes, including Rockport (they started the walking shoe line a number of years ago), New Balance, Brooks (they have the firmest motion control), Nike, Dunham, Reebok, L.L. Bean and Kuru. Note that these are trademarks and this site is not affiliated with the trademark owners, we just comment on their shoes.
You may have to try online to get shoes with firm motion control, since the average shoe store salesperson is 100% about fashion because that is what makes most sales. On the other hand, walking shoes, especially leather walking shoes, will offer both looks and support and this may require a supplier who understands and makes available shoes with good support and motion control. Happy walking, no one ever regrets their daily walk.
